Stowe Elementary always has a great turnout of strong fathers and strong families. Thanks to the APSIRE program and Mr. Moon for doing all of the hard work for us to get to Stowe this year. Stowe is a great school with great teachers and strong families. We had a cafeteria full of dads and a morning full of fun and learning.

Bob Smiley-A Funny Father

We recently had the opportunity to interview Bob Smiley who is a Christian, a Comedian, and a Father (not always in that order). He answers some questions for us and then we were able to interview him on our radio show as well.

Check out the podcast of part of his interview.

Kids can leave their mark on a dad- If he lets them.

Tattoos by Luna

We know as dads that our kids leave an indelible mark on us. But what about when you let them REALLY leave a mark on you, that is PERMANENT? This is a great dad who has started a great tradition with his daughter that she couldn’t forget, even if she tried.

Author’s Note:

I met Tyler several years ago. I work with the Head Start in Greeley and we had tried to do something together there in Weld County a couple of times. We have also attended the same conference a couple of times. When I found out about his tattoos I was inspired and jealous. My kids are teenage boys with a wicked sense of humor so I will not give them the same chance. Thanks Tyler for sharing your story with us.

As always, Christie has a great crowd show up for Bring Your Dad to School Day.

DSCF5145

Christie Elementary does a great job of getting the dads out and getting them through all of the hoops to allow them to visit their child’s classroom. Thanks to so many dads that took the time to learn more about your child and your child’s school. I am always impressed how the Christie dads not only attend but participate. Looking forward to math and science programs on campus later this year.

Millsap Elementary Gets Their Math On!

DSCF5116

We had a great crowd at Millsap Elementary Dad and Kid Math Night even as the World Series was going on! These dads had their priorities STRAIGHT! (Then they ran home as soon as possible to catch the third inning to cheer on the Rangers. We always enjoy getting out to the country where the dads are strong, the kids are smart, and a traffic jam usually involves something with a tail!

Goshen Creek Elementary had a full house as dads ate breakfast, visited classes, and met to discuss the importance of dads in the lives and education of the kids. Thanks to all of the great dads that came out and the talented teachers that had so many interactive activities for dads to enjoy as they watched their child learn in ways much different than when the dads were in school. (Long Long Long Time Ago!)

2011-10-06_08-49-26_74

Many parents seem afraid to enter a Middle School campus. Sometimes with good reason! However, the brave fathers at Carpenter found out that CMS is a great place to visit and great place for their kids to learn. It is also a great place for fathers to get involved.

We celebrate over ten years at Springtown Elementary

I have been fortunate enough to have worked with Springtown Elementary for more than ten years now. I was actually working with Springtown ISD before I moved back to my hometown and one of the reasons our family moved back was because of the schools here. We are proud to be Porcupines and proud to be a part of such a great school. As well, one of the fathers who attended was one of my students when I was a principal. Talk about making you feel old!

Not only did dads get to see their kids at work in classrooms, but they also got a good look at the brand new building for Mendenhall Elementary. Mendenhall has a beautiful new building but there is still the same old great things going on in the classroom. The building is pretty, the dads were not, but both were awesome.
