DSCF6214

Meadows Elementary families always like to come out to Strong Father events and they always like to have a good time. We love working with families that want to have fun with their child while they are trying to teach them. There was a lot of fun and learning going on at Meadows Elementary Dad and Kid Math Night.

Comfort Elementary has their first Bring Your Dad to School Day!

DSCF6082

The fine folks of Comfort Elementary (Comfort, TX) have been trying a couple of years to get a Strong Fathers event in their school. After scheduling, negotiating, meeting, and cajoling we finally all made it happen. And happen it did. Comfort fathers came out in truckloads (or at least in trucks!) and supported their kids and their school. We are hoping to get back to Comfort in the Spring for a couple more events. Thanks to all for a great day.

Christie Math Night has the kids beating the dads (in math games!)

DSCF6042

There was some serious competition going on at Christie Elementary for Dad and Kid Math Night. The kids were very determined to make sure that they were going to try to win as many games as possible. They also had to make sure that their dads were not cheating! Sometimes they are pretty good at that!

Bilhartz Elementary Joins the Strong Fathers Family

DSCF6029

Bilhartz Elementary has a new principal who is not new to us at Strong Fathers. Ms. Ebonye McGee is a great instructional leader and she understands the power of involved families and involved fathers. Bilhartz is a great school with a great principal, great teachers, and a great group of fathers and families. We are looking forward to building stronger kids by strengthening fathers and families with Bilhartz.

Spicer Works to Strengthen Fathers and Families (and their kids!)

DSCF5926

It is good to be back at Spicer Elementary in Birdville ISD. We are now funded by the ASPIRE after school program to work with fathers and kids and we had a great first event for the year. Lots of dads, lots of kids, lots of parking places, and a great time to be in school with the kids. Thanks to all that attended and we look forward to more events with dads and kids in the Spring Semester.

Wow! What a great Reading Night at Rasor Elementary in Plano. We had a super group of Kids and Dads…and Moms. Even though some Dads thought they needed a chiropractor after that second book, we all had a blast. A big thanks to Principal Pruett and Assistant Principal Bonner for hosting us. You Rasor Rockets are really soaring!!! Read the rest of this entry »

Mighty Math Night at AWB

2011-11-03_19-01-02_583

We had a mighty big crowd at the Academy at West Birdville. These families have meant a lot to me over the years. This is our 8th year to be at AWB and some of the kids you will see in these pictures did not exist when we first started there. Their older siblings were in elementary when we started and now they are a part of the legacy of Strong Families at this great school. We always have a big crowd, we always have strong families, and we always have FUN! (Sometimes we even learn stuff!)

Thanks to many of you who reminded us to get these posted. I think I was dealing with a Fun Size Snickers Sugar Crash Today. Had a great Halloween with the nieces and nephew (the Strong Sons are too old to go door to door but still young enough to eat bags of candy!) Here are your calendars for schools and early childhood activities.
